Rare Artist Series: Kice - Miracles
This track sums up to me what can be a perfect, personal hip hop song without sounding too preachy or pretentious. Kice (Of Course) drops some solid rhymes over this smooth track coupled with a clever chorus from his album "New Experience".

Enemies (Remix Part Deux)
Mysterio whipped up another version of this classic track. Xylaphones, rhodes keys and wah wah guitar flow over the walking bass line as he provides cuts and sound effects to accentuate the three emcees tight verses. Finishing things off is the sample from "True Romance" which appeared on the original mix.
Geometry Lesson
Mysterio introduces the teacher on this terrific track from the Time-Space Continuum album. A picked guitar moves back and forth as the bass wraps deeply around the tight drum kit that Mysterio put together. Aya comes and drops two deadly verses schooling all the wack emcees in his classroom.
NOTABLE QUOTES:
"I watch as you freefall into an abyss of nothingness/ Emptiness/ Your words are meaningless/ I ain't seeing this art form die/ That's why I crucify fake emcees from here to Shanghai" - Aya Da Storm

Neva Sleeps (First Take) (8-Track Remastered) - Instrumental
Angles
Another jam off the Time-Space Contiuum album finds the three emcees Kwote, Anoir and Optiskept (now known as SINIMA BEATS) rocking over a spaced out Mysterio masterwork. Warped sounds, wah wah guitars and strong horns fill the drum track as Mysterio cuts up some vocals from Masta Ace.
"Rhymes fly like debris so run for cover/ On your knees/ Over trees - our starships hover" - Anoir
"How do I do it? It comes naturally/ I don't have to write every day - you people acting like you paid" - Kwote
"For days and decades - drop masquerades/ Mutitated plays/ I got a mind filled with ways to escape" - Optiskept

Rare Artist Series: Hard Knocks - Dirty Cop Named Harry (Remix)
Definitely a slept on album - or was it? As many fans of hip hop's yesteryear have attested to this is one solid piece of work. Hard Knocks unfortunately ended up being on the ill-fated Wild Pitch label and were never heard from again after their debut. This track is off the 12" record featuring a remix of their song "Dirty Cop Named Harry".
Jake's Jamboree Session #5
A fourteen part series from the session up in Connecticut at Lamada's Laboratory. Live drums, bass, keys, kalimba, turntables, etc. provide the tools for which these guys used to just have some fun making music.

Neva Sleeps (First Take) (8-Track Remastered)
Mad as F*ck (1995)
A bubbling bass and crunchy beat are served up by Mysterio for Moosie Moe and T-Booth to lay down their whacked out verses on. A beatnick guitar and funky horns come bounce around with the cuts Mysterio inserted in the non-chorus. Overall, a funny ass track by the two emcees over a head nodding Mysterio masterpiece.

Rare Artist Series: Last Emperor - Meditation (Original)
This is the track that made me a huge Last Emperor fan. He was bounced around from label to label for a while (Rawkus, Death Row, Aftermath, etc.) after he had several songs making the mixtape circuits. This gem was on of them. Unlike the "redone" version that showed up on his several different albums that followed - this one has the dark feel that fits perfectly with his amazing lyrics.

Enemies (Original Mix Remixed)
This version is more of a laid back, low rider, g-thang version of the Universal Sounds classic track. Mysterio whipped up this remix with sparse guitars, organs and keys with different cuts inserted here and there. The sample from "True Romance" kicks off the proceedings but not before some people say how wack the group is.

Waiting (Take 4)
Rhodes keys and light pianos flow over this slow jam crafted by Mysterio. A funky guitar flips through right beside a water type sound effect over the crystallized drum kit. This is one of the many tracks for Cise's lost EP from the year 2001. This time Cise drops lyrics on his various woes of love in a somewhat comical way.
NOTABLE QUOTES:
"Believe me, if I show love, my love won't quit/ But the worse letter is "X" and you with him so pack your shit" - Cise
