Rare Artist Series: Grand Visitor - The Visitor (Situation Critical)
Homeliss Derlelix is another group I never heard of until years later and at that point they disbanded. Here is a single from the Grand Visitor before he became a part of the group. Love the cat's voice and like Guru said it is "mostly the voice". Tight.

Rare Artist Series: Gangstarr - Now You're Mine
"Yo, duke, you're dead wrong...". Man, oh, man, I can listen to this song over and over. I was always a Guru fan while other's didn't dig "mostly his voice". Anyhow - the beats, rhymes and cuts on this song come together perfectly like a puzzle.

Rare Artist Series: Eddie Ill & DL - Freestyle with Last Emperor, Asheru & J-Live
One of my favorite "freestyle" tracks ever. I love the flow of the beat and the three emcees shine brightly extremely fluidly all over it.

Magmatic (2011 Analog Remix)
The scene is still Magmatic for this rendition of the MJB and T-Booth collaboration. Mysterio pulled analog samples from movies and TV shows like "Star Trek", "Land of the Lost" and "X-Files" to accentuate the sci-fi vibe. The analog samples are equally spacey and switch up at the right time to compliment the two emcees dope verses. Sound effects fit into the design as well delivering what happens to be one of Mysterio's favorite Universal Sounds remixes to date.

Rare Artist Series: J-Live - Charmed Life
Underrated, overlooked and yet J-Live is always consistent. Here he teams up with another cat who never got his "real" due. Jazzy Jeff provides the beat as J gets introspective.

Facial Features (2011 Analog Remix)
A jazz tinged production composed by Mysterio as he assembled analog samples to compliment the classic song by Kwote Scriptures. Snippets of dialogue and vocal singing from women's recordings, new and old, were inserted over a swinging drum program.

Rare Artist Series: DJ Doom - Dreamer (feat. Kahli And Estelle)
Doom. What a name for this DJ to pick. I immediately dismissed his audacity for choosing that name. But upon listening to his album I was quickly intrigued. Here is one cut that is completely fresh and features one of the few new singers I can stomach: Estelle.

Fuckin' Up Da West Coast (2011 Analog Remix)
MC Automatic and Static are still fuckin' up the west coast but this time Mysterio is behind the boards instead of DJ Meathooks. The west coast gangsta flavor is still in effect with a booming 808 track setting the back drop for this gangsta ass picnic on the mic.

Rare Artist Series: Apathy - What Goes Up
Storytelling in hip hop has always been a staple and it hits me even more when it is heartfelt but not at all sappy. Apathy delivers his tale of the gun over a very soulful track. Top Notch.

Suckas (2011 Analog Remix)
A classic Universal Sounds posse cut reinvented for the second decade of the twenty-first Century. A quote from the film "Payback" kicks off the proceedings as analog layers of samples glide over a programmed beat conducted by Mysterio. Suckas still don't like them.

Rare Artist Series: Atmosphere - Crewed Up
Ant and Slug brought back the posse cut on their excellent "unreleased promo" album "Strictly Leakage". Definitely a throwback which fit in with the other nostalgia induced tunes on the album.

Rare Artist Series: 7L & Esoteric - Stalker
This is such a creepy and funny ass track at the same time. I think they sample "Kids in the Hall" on this one in regards to the chorus/breakdown. The beat is funky and the lyrical story Esoteric put together proves how great of a story teller he can be.

Rare Artist Series: Big Noyd - Back Up In This Bitch
I slept on Noyd when he came out. He had dope verses on Mobb Deep's second album but I guess he just slipped off my radar after that. Anyhow - digging back in the crates I gave his record a spin and definitely he has been in my top rotation as of late. Great mid 90's hip hop from Queensbridge, motherfucka!

Rare Artist Series: Def Squad - Check N Me Out
The Green Eyed Bandit sampled the group Space Machine for this favorite Def Squad cut of mine. So funky and the three emcees voices and lyrics compliment it to the tee. Solid.

Rare Artist Series: Vakill - The Creed
One of my favorite tracks by this Chi-Town native. The beat is intense and his lyrics are complex yet completely understandable. Play over and over and over.
